The kdFi V1.4 PNP BMW M50B20TU is a direct-fit Plug and Play Engine Control Unit (ECU) designed for M50B20TU engines, housed within a Siemens MS40 compatible unit. It comes pre-loaded with an initial setup for these specific engines. For those with MS40.0 or MS40.1 ECUs not explicitly listed, direct contact with the manufacturer is recommended. Installation requires several customer-initiated steps, including replacing the crankshaft sensor with one from an M50B25TU (e.g., HELLA 6PU 009 110-541), starting the engine, and performing a custom setup. Please be aware that this product is generally only street legal with special permission in most countries, and users should verify local laws before use on public roads. Automatic transmissions are not currently supported.
