v2.0 Frame Rail Reinforcement Kit

The Flyin' Miata frame rails v2.0 are chassis reinforcements designed to significantly increase the rigidity of your vehicle, allowing the suspension to perform optimally. A stiffer chassis acts as a more stable platform, leading to better and more predictable handling, improved ride quality, and a reduction in chassis flex which can alter suspension geometry under load. Testing on a 2002 Miata showed a 17.5% improvement in chassis stiffness. The kit adds only 13.5 lbs of weight and does not affect ground clearance. Constructed from 14 gauge stainless steel, both the rails and fasteners are built to resist corrosion and are robust enough to be used as jacking points. The version 2.0 features cutouts on the sides and ensures compatibility with various Flyin' Miata butterfly brace designs. For optimal stiffness, pairing these frame rails with the Flyin' Miata butterfly brace is highly recommended. Installation requires no welding, but does necessitate drilling 24 holes in the car. The kit fits all 1990-2000 cars, as well as 2001-2002 cars without Sport bracing. Sport models and 2003-2005 Miatas can also use the braces, but may require the removal or modification of a factory cross bar. If the factory frame rails are damaged (which is common due to improper jacking), they may need to be reshaped using a hammer or other tools for proper fitment. Some users have reported needing extensive modifications or finding that the product 'does not fit,' often due to damaged factory rails or the need for reshaping. For other vehicles, the cross-section of the frame rails cannot exceed 2.65" x 1.875", and the rails themselves are 43" long. The product is covered by a 1-year warranty.
