V2 Bypass Valve

The GrimmSpeed V2 Bypass Valve in black is engineered to replace the factory recirculating bypass valve on 2004-2021 Subaru STI and 2002-2007 WRX models. Its primary function is to provide more consistent venting of boost pressure during throttle lift events, which is crucial when modifying a turbocharged engine. When the throttle closes under boost, the turbocharger continues to produce pressure. The bypass valve recirculates this pressure back into the intake, preventing compressor surge and safeguarding the turbo. The OEM valve is adequate for stock boost levels but can become a limitation, flutter, leak, or fail inconsistently as boost increases. Constructed from CNC-machined billet 6061 aluminum alloy, this valve is both strong and lightweight, finished in a black anodized coating for corrosion resistance and aesthetics. It features a 38mm piston design for quick air dumping and a recirculating design that keeps boosted air within the intake system. This ensures accurate MAF readings and prevents the fuel trim issues sometimes associated with atmospheric bypass valves on MAF-based systems.
