The Hughes Engines HUG 7720FEL is a V8 Magnum plenum repair kit designed to address common engine issues. This kit replaces the factory plenum plate with a one-piece, high-strength, 1/4" thick aluminum plate.

It is supplied with all necessary fasteners, new intake gasket set, intake gasket, bypass hose, and detailed instructions. This repair aims to solve problems such as gasket blowing out, engine pinging under acceleration, excessive oil consumption, and dropping mileage.

The Hughes Engines HUG 7720FEL V8 Magnum Plenum Repair Kit is engineered to solve persistent issues plaguing Dodge and Jeep truck owners with 5.2L and 5.9L Magnum engines from 1992-2003. If you're experiencing gasket blowouts, engine pinging, high oil consumption, or decreased fuel economy, this kit provides a permanent solution. Instead of the problematic factory plate and gasket system, this kit utilizes a robust, one-piece, 1/4-inch thick aluminum plate. This significantly stronger construction eliminates the recurring failures associated with the original design, ensuring a lasting seal. The kit includes all premium Fel Pro brand gaskets, new fasteners, intake bolts, a bypass hose, and comprehensive installation instructions to guide you through the repair process. Diagnosing a leaking plenum gasket can involve checking for oil and black soot inside the intake manifold when the engine is off, or observing for a vacuum instead of pressure from the PCV valve when the engine is running. A leaking gasket can lead to oil being drawn into the intake, causing increased oil usage, smoking, pinging, and power loss. This oil contamination can also build up carbon on oxygen sensors, negatively impacting performance, mileage, and emissions. Hughes Engines recommends replacing the pre-catalytic (front) O2 sensor concurrently with this plenum repair for optimal results.
