The plate facilitates a traditional brake booster to manifold setup, which is essential for vehicles that do not require the factory vacuum pump. If installing on a vehicle with a factory vacuum pump, deleting it will remove all power brake assist unless custom work is done to plumb the brake booster to the intake manifold.
