Valve Body Repair Kit

The TransGo SK 604 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit is engineered to resolve common issues in Chrysler and Dodge automatic transmissions, specifically the A604/41TE, A606/42LE, and 42RLE series. This kit is designed for models produced from 1989 to 2006 that do not feature the variable line pressure (VLP) solenoid and sensor. For vehicles equipped with the VLP system, TransGo offers a separate kit (# SK 42RLE-VLP). This repair kit directly targets prevalent transmission complaints such as delayed forward or reverse engagement, the jarring 2-1 coast downshift clunk, and the 4-3 coast downshift clunk. These issues are often caused by wear or leaks within the valve body components. The kit includes a specially designed non-shrinking gasket for the low/reverse piston housing, which corrects leaks resulting from the gasket's age-related shrinkage. Key components within the SK 604 kit include TransGo's engineered accumulator piston seals and expander wires, intended for models with aluminum accumulator pistons. It also features a durable "Tuff™Seal" for the underdrive clutch piston, ensuring longevity. An updated pressure regulator spring is provided to align earlier valve body designs (1989-1991) with revised pressure specifications used from 1992 to 2006. Additionally, accumulator spacers are included to expedite clutch release, leading to shorter and cleaner shifts. Beyond addressing specific clunks and engagement delays, this kit helps prevent accumulator leaks and contributes to overall improved shift quality. The kit also includes a drill bit and notes that while it corrects many issues, codes P0841, P0871, P0988, P1775, and P1776 related to solenoid switch valve bore wear may require an additional solenoid switch valve kit.
