This essential engine component sits atop the cylinder head, integrating a PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve. Its functions include protecting the valve train, managing crankcase pressure by venting it out of the engine, and providing the necessary port for oil filling. Replacement is frequently necessitated by a failing PCV valve, which can allow engine oil to enter and contaminate the air intake system. This Febi Bilstein valve cover is manufactured to the same standards as original BMW parts, offering an affordable yet reliable solution for common engine issues. The product includes a valve cover gasket set, eccentric shaft actuator gasket, eccentric shaft sensor gasket, and nineteen valve cover bolts. It is also recommended to use part number 11 12 7 575 422 for the spark plug tube, with six required per car. Installation of a valve cover typically takes around four hours for an experienced DIY mechanic. The valve cover is generally located within the engine bay and accessible after removing the engine cover, ignition coils, and a few bolts.
