The BTR BTR-SK018 is a valve spring kit designed for Gen III/Gen IV LS engines. This single spring kit is suitable for camshafts using less than .625" valve lift. It features tumble polishing for reduced stress risers and a quality appearance.

The kit includes sixteen SP018-1 valve springs, a VS LS KIT valve seal set, and a SL505045BH-16 spring locator set with a .045" thickness.

The BTR .625" Lift Beehive Valve Spring Kit (BTR-SK018) is engineered by Brian Tooley Racing as a robust solution for Gen III and Gen IV LS engines, particularly for camshafts requiring up to .625" of valve lift. This kit is presented as a budget-friendly option that utilizes BTR's beehive locators along with factory retainers and locks. The springs themselves undergo a tumble polishing process to minimize stress risers and enhance their visual appeal. They are rated at 125 lbs at 1.800", 350 lbs at 1.200", and 365 lbs at 1.175", with coil bind occurring at 1.100". The kit includes sixteen SP018-1 valve springs, a VS LS KIT valve seal set, and sixteen SL505045BH-16 spring locators measuring .045" thick. It is important to note that this kit cannot be used with OEM hat style valve seals. BTR extensively tests all their valve springs on in-house Spintron machines and engine dynos, ensuring reliability for both street applications and single-valve spring-only racing classes. However, BTR advises against using single wire conical or beehive springs with roller rockers due to potential valve train instability from added mass or coil bind issues if a higher ratio rocker is employed. For specific roller rocker combinations, contacting their sales team for clarification is recommended.
