The Comp Cams 4778-1 is a hardened steel valve spring locator designed to precisely center the spring seat and securely hold the valve spring. It utilizes an inboard locating shoulder for optimal positioning. With a 1.550" outside diameter and a .570" inside diameter, this locator is engineered to work effectively with specific Comp Cams dual valve springs, including the 938 and 927 models. Its construction from hardened steel ensures durability and protection for the cylinder head and shim. The locator has a thickness of 0.060 inches and an inside diameter of the inner spring of 0.730 inches, providing a stable foundation for the valve spring assembly.
