The Genuine BMW Solenoid Valve is a critical part of your BMW's VANOS (Variable Valve Timing) system. This solenoid controls the flow of engine oil to the VANOS system, enabling precise adjustment of intake and exhaust valve timing. Proper operation of this solenoid is essential for achieving optimal engine performance, enhancing fuel efficiency, and reducing emissions across the entire RPM range. Symptoms of a failing VANOS solenoid can include a Check Engine Light, poor engine performance such as hesitation or reduced power, and rough idling. This specific solenoid is designed to thread into the front of M62 engines and is a common failure item on higher mileage vehicles. It replaces BMW part number 11367524489 and is compatible with previous revisions like 11367501775 and 11361433667. This Genuine BMW solenoid is manufactured in Germany and is built to stringent BMW standards. It is designed to fit BMW Chassis E38, E39, and E53 X5, as well as engines including M62 and N51. Specifically, it is compatible with various models of the BMW 540i, 740i, 740iL, X5, and Z8, covering a range of years and engine displacements (e.g., M62 4.4L, M62 4.6L, M62 4.8L). Please note that some 1998 models may have a production date cut-off of 9/1998 for compatibility. It is recommended to use a vehicle selector to confirm exact fitment.
