The COBB Top Mount Intercooler for the Subaru WRX offers a substantial increase in overall airflow and more efficient cooling compared to other top mount intercoolers. This intercooler boasts the largest core available for the DIT WRX, measuring 15.75" x 9.65" x 3.94", yet is designed for easier installation than many competing options. To accommodate the increased weight of the core, a heavy-duty replacement mounting bracket is included for the passenger side, and a bushing is provided to isolate engine block vibrations. Reinforced black silicone couplers ensure a maximized flow path from the turbocharger to the throttle body. Additionally, the included COBB Thrust Tunnel, made of wrinkle-black powder-coated aluminum, attaches to the factory hood ducting to optimize airflow through the intercooler core. Installation of this intercooler requires the COBB Charge Pipe Kit, which is available separately. Upgrading the intercooler can lead to increased power by improving airflow and reducing charge air temperatures. This top mount design offers a balance of cooling capacity and transient response, making it suitable for applications seeking enhanced airflow and cooling without needing to support a large upgraded turbocharger. This intercooler is 50-state legal and has a CARB Executive Order (EO) number D-660-69. It is confirmed to fit Subaru WRX models from 2015 to 2021, including both CVT and MT variants.
