Velocity Intake Manifold for VW 2.5L 5-Cylinder

The Integrated Engineering IEIMVB1-BK intake manifold is engineered to significantly enhance the performance of VW 2.5L 5-cylinder engines, including naturally aspirated and turbocharged applications. It features a cast aluminum construction with a durable black powder-coat finish, and all manufacturing processes are completed in the USA. This manifold offers optimized bellmouth inlets and a flow-tuned runner design, leveraging computer software and CFD analysis to maximize airflow and create a resonance effect that rams more air into the cylinders. The increased plenum volume distributes airflow evenly, providing a substantial improvement over the factory component. Installation is designed for factory-like fitment on 07K engines, retaining all original components without requiring modifications to the engine bay, vacuum, emissions, fuel, or coolant systems. However, the larger plenum necessitates a relocated throttle body, which is easily plumbed with the included 2.5L manifold air intake kit (IEIMVB2, sold separately). Serious engine damage can occur from incorrect installation, and professional installation is recommended. The factory fuel rail is compatible with the included hardware, though a billet fuel rail is also an option. To achieve maximum performance gains, this intake manifold requires specific supporting hardware and software. An IE Stage 2 ECU software tune (IESOVB1/2/3, sold separately) is mandatory to recalibrate the ECU for the increased volume and flow, unlocking significant horsepower and torque increases. For vehicles with automatic transmissions, an IE TCU Transmission tune (IESOCCY1, sold separately) is also required to remove internal rev limiters that would otherwise prevent the manifold and software from reaching their full potential. This manifold is compatible with all VW 2.5L engines from 2005-2013 that feature an electric power steering system. It will NOT fit vehicles equipped with a hydraulic power steering pump, which is located below the factory intake manifold.
