The Process West Verticooler is a revolutionary slant-mount top mount intercooler system engineered for the 2008-2014 Subaru WRX. It tackles the inherent heat-soak limitations of factory top mount intercoolers, which suffer from poor airflow exit paths and trapped hot air. Unlike simply increasing the size of the stock intercooler, the Verti-Cooler employs a near-vertical mounting angle (15 degrees) in conjunction with a custom hood duct system. This innovative design forces cool ambient air directly onto the intercooler fins and allows hot air to exit efficiently downward through the engine bay, creating a continuous, low-restriction airflow path for both intake and heat evacuation. The system features one of the largest intercooler cores available for the G3 WRX, measuring 400mm in flow length, 205mm in stack height, and 120mm in thickness. This massive core increases cooling capacity while maintaining efficient airflow. Performance benefits include dramatically reduced heat soak, improved cooling efficiency under sustained load, increased power consistency, enhanced throttle response, and greater engine reliability. An optional hot side silicone hose is available for compatibility with non-stock turbochargers.
