The IHI Turbo VF48 is a performance turbocharger designed for Subaru Impreza WRX STI models with a 2.5L engine. The IHI Turbo VF48 is a performance upgrade turbocharger engineered for Subaru Impreza WRX STI models equipped with the 2.5L engine, specifically fitting the 2008-2019 model years. It generates boost more easily and provides a smoother, less binary torque curve across the powerband, especially above 3000 RPM. Constructed with a precisely machined aluminum forged big compressor wheel and featuring a larger compressor shroud with an abrade-able seal structure, the VF48 enhances charging efficiency. However, it is important to note that gaskets are excluded and engine and peripheral parts modifications will be necessary to maximize its performance potential. Usage of this product is restricted to racing vehicles on closed courses and is not intended for use on public roads or vehicles subject to emission control requirements. In the USA, it should not be used on any vehicle registered or licensed for public road use. Installation requires ECU adjustment, and inlet & exhaust upgrades are recommended for racing applications. To achieve optimal performance, modifications such as an aftermarket boost controller, and potentially adjustments to engine control parameters like ignition timing, are necessary. Premium gasoline is recommended when making such adjustments to prevent engine knock.
