VForce4 Reed Valve System

The Moto Tassinari VForce4 reed valve system represents a significant redesign built upon the success of the VForce3. The core innovation lies in its unique design, which doubles the reed tip surface area compared to conventional reed valves. This design allows the reed petals to travel only half the distance to achieve the same airflow, leading to improved sealing and reduced wear. This enhanced airflow and petal travel efficiency contribute to tangible performance gains, including increased bottom-end torque, a stronger mid-range, and extended top-end power. Additionally, the screw-free design enhances safety by eliminating the risk of internal motor damage from loose screws and allows for rapid reed petal replacement. The VForce4 features an all-new reed petal resin system, utilizing carbon fiber for improved durability and performance. The pre-curved reed petal ensures a better seal at the tip, while the wider reed cage maximizes airflow. Specific enhancements include a 10.5% increase in combined reed tip area for greater airflow, an airfoil shape on the cage tip to boost air velocity, and long reed stops that progressively slow the petal tip for increased durability. The frontal area of the central wing has also been reduced by 15.6% with a more aerodynamic shape. This VForce4 reed valve system is designed for Yamaha Banshee models (all years) and Yamaha RD250, RD350, and RD400 models (all years). Owners of the RD250, 350, and 400 models should be aware that installation requires modification of the cylinder intake ports, including material removal from the port walls, as the valve will not fit without these adjustments.
