Overview

The 3M VHB 06382 is an automotive acrylic Plus attachment tape designed for bonding various automotive components. It features two adhesives, one on each side of a 1.12 mm acrylic foam core. The liner-side adhesive bonds to automotive paint systems, while the non-liner-side adhesive adheres to metals and plastics commonly found in automotive parts. This black tape provides a good bond-line appearance and is available in a 1/2 in x 20 yd roll.

The 3M VHB 06382 is an automotive acrylic Plus attachment tape engineered for reliable bonding of exterior trim and other components to automotive substrates. This tape utilizes a 1.12 mm viscoelastic acrylic foam core with two distinct adhesive formulations. The adhesive on the liner side offers high initial and final adhesion to traditional and scratch-optimized automotive paint systems. This OEM-approved, black acrylic foam tape is known for its superior performance and high stress handling capabilities compared to other automotive attachment tapes. Its conformable foam core effectively adapts to complex geometries, while its viscoelastic nature allows for stress relaxation under load, maintaining bond-line aesthetics. The 1/2 inch wide, 20-yard roll features a red, 3M-branded liner for easy, one-piece release and provides visual assurance of product authenticity. Typical applications for the 3M VHB 06382 include lightweight body side moldings, wheel flares, door edge moldings, interior trim panels, antenna housings, and nameplates or emblems. For optimal adhesion on plastic parts such as RIM, TPO, PPO, PP, and PC, 3M recommends using their 3M™ Automotive Adhesion Promoter 06396.
