VK56 to VQ40 6-Speed Transmission Adapter Kit

The C3 Performance VK56 to VQ40 6-speed transmission adapter kit provides a comprehensive solution for swapping Nissan VK56DE and VK56VD (Truck/SUV) engines into Frontier and Xterra vehicles equipped with 6-speed manual transmissions (both 2WD and 4WD). Engineered using high-resolution 3D scans of both the engine and transmission, this adapter kit ensures tested alignment for dowel pin and bolt pattern accuracy. It features a 5/8" thick 6061-T6 aluminum construction with 10.9-grade hardware for durability. This kit enables the use of any 350Z flywheel and clutch kit, with a recommended Z1 Off-Road kit available. A flywheel spacer is included to accommodate off-the-shelf 350Z clutch/flywheel combinations and properly locate the pilot bushing. The integrated starter mounting kit is a key convenience, allowing the starter to be removed without needing to uninstall the transmission. Unlike the Frontier/Xterra flywheel, which is too large and interferes with the crank sensor, the 350Z clutch and flywheel setup offers superior clamping force, a larger clamping surface area, and a wider selection of options, including twin-disc setups.
