This turbocharger utilizes a larger, custom-machined compressor housing and a billet compressor wheel with a 76mm extended tip, paired with a 61mm/54mm TD06SL2 turbine wheel and an upgraded internal bearing for improved durability and performance. This turbocharger is designed as a stock location bolt-on for the Mk8 Golf R and 8Y S3, simplifying installation. However, for the Mk8 Golf GTI, a specific retrofit install kit is required, which includes items like a silicon turbo outlet hose, reroute hose, billet DV mount, and plug-and-play wiring harness. Additional modifications are recommended or required for optimal performance, including an upgraded cold air intake, intercooler, exhaust system, and for E85 applications, an upgraded low-pressure fuel pump. For Mk8 GTI owners considering the Blaze Atom V2 intake, specific inlet adapters and silicone intake hoses from the Mk8 Golf R / 8Y version may be necessary. Power gains are substantial, with potential increases of up to 175hp over stock on pump gas for the Golf R/S3 and up to 255hp over stock for the GTI. On E85, these figures rise to up to 285hp over stock for the Golf R/S3 and up to 365hp over stock for the GTI.
