Vortex Turbocharger

The EQT Vortex turbocharger is a direct bolt-on upgrade designed for the VW/Audi MQB 1.8T and 2.0T platforms, offering a significant performance increase. It is manufactured with all new components and features housings that mimic OEM IS20/IS38 turbochargers to ensure proper fitment. This turbocharger delivers excellent spool characteristics and responsive power delivery across the entire RPM range, maintaining a flat torque curve that extends nearly to redline. The Vortex is available in two configurations: Standard and XL. The Standard model can produce up to 440whp on 93 octane and up to 520whp on race gas or E85, spooling to 30PSI as fast as 2800rpm. It utilizes a 61mm/54mm TD06SL2l turbine wheel and a 53mm/71mm base with a 76mm extended tip compressor wheel, housed within an IS20-sized exhaust housing. The XL version pushes power higher, up to 460whp on 93 octane and 550whp on race gas or E85, with spool to 30PSI starting at 3000rpm. It shares the same turbine and compressor wheel specifications but features an IS38-sized exhaust housing. To maximize the potential of the EQT Vortex turbochargers, supporting modifications are highly recommended. These include upgraded fueling, such as a high-pressure fuel pump for pump gas and low-pressure fuel pump with multi-port injection for ethanol use. Enhancing airflow with an upgraded intercooler, air intake, discharge pipe kit, and aftermarket exhaust is also advised. Furthermore, custom tuning is REQUIRED for proper operation. Additional recommended upgrades include upgraded engine and transmission mounts, sticky tires, and coilovers.
