Vortex Turbocharger

The EQT Vortex Turbocharger is a complete bolt-on solution for the VW/Audi MQB 1.8T and 2.0T platform, manufactured with all new components and including new installation hardware. Its housings are designed to mimic the OEM IS20/IS38 turbochargers for precise fitment. The EQT Vortex offers excellent spool and response, providing a flat torque curve that extends nearly to redline. The Vortex is available in two sizes: Standard and XL. The Standard configuration is capable of up to 440whp on 93 octane fuel and up to 520whp on race gas or E85, spooling to 30 PSI as fast as 2800rpm. It features a 61mm/54mm TD06SL2l turbine wheel, a 53mm/71mm base with a 76mm extended tip compressor wheel, and an IS20-sized exhaust housing. The Vortex XL variant can produce up to 460whp on 93 octane and up to 550whp on race gas or E85, spooling to 30 PSI as fast as 3000rpm. It shares the same turbine and compressor wheel specifications but uses an IS38-sized exhaust housing. To maximize the performance of the EQT Vortex Turbochargers, several supporting modifications are recommended. These include an upgraded High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) and potentially a Low-Pressure Fuel Pump for pump gas, or a Low-Pressure Fuel Pump and Multi-Port Injection (MPI) for ethanol fuels. Other recommended bolt-on modifications to enhance flow are a direct replacement intercooler, an upgraded air intake system, a discharge pipe kit, aftermarket exhaust equipment, and upgraded TMAP and PUT sensors. Professional custom tuning is required for proper operation. This turbocharger is specifically designed for All VAG MQB vehicles, including Mk7 GTI, Golf R, S3, A3, TT, and TT-S models. It is noted for its ability to achieve 9-second 1/4-mile passes, as demonstrated by a customer with a stock engine and transmission running the Vortex XL on E85.
