The Tomei valve guide set is engineered for high-horsepower, high-RPM applications on the 2009+ Nissan R35 GT-R with the VR38DETT engine. Constructed from Phosphor Bronze (Cn-Sn-P alloy), these valve guides offer superior heat transfer and tensile strength, crucial for managing extreme temperatures generated by performance engines. The material choice also provides exceptionally low friction, allowing for precise clearances that reduce stress on the valve train assembly. This helps prevent seizures and cracking under high stress loads, contributing to the longevity and reliability of critical engine components. The set includes a total of 24 valve guides, with 12 designated for intake and 12 for exhaust valves. Factors such as increased lateral pressure from rocker arm assemblies, rough valve stem walls, aggressive camshafts, excessive carbon buildup, valve spring surging, defective seat cuts, incorrect clearances (outside the 0.03-0.04mm range), worn valves, or defective valve designs can accelerate wear.
