The VR Speed Factory VRSF 5" Performance HD Intercooler Upgrade Kit is engineered to significantly improve the performance of your BMW N20, N26, or N55 engine by replacing the stock intercooler. This kit features a proprietary High Density bar and plate core, which offers a greater overall surface area for superior heat absorption and dissipation compared to the OEM tube and fin design. The core is carefully balanced to minimize pressure drop while maximizing intake temperature reduction, which is crucial for preventing heat soak and potential pre-detonation, especially when tuned. It is 87% larger than the original equipment manufacturer's intercooler, allowing for substantial airflow improvements. The kit comes with everything necessary for installation, which can typically be completed in under 1.5 hours, and includes tabs for retaining the factory fan shroud. A thermal dispersant coating is applied after pressure testing to ensure a leak-free experience and provide enhanced protection against environmental factors. This VRSF intercooler is capable of supporting up to 600 wheel horsepower (whp). It fits a wide range of BMW models including the F22, F23, F30, F31, F32, F33, F34, F36, and F87 chassis. The product is compatible with Left Hand Drive (LHD), Right Hand Drive (RHD), and all XI models. Note that F23/F33 models are limited to the 5-inch version for street use only.
