The VW1500 Hydraulic Series is designed for traditional rope and chain combination anchor rodes, requiring manual transfer between rope warping drum and chainwheel. It allows operation of two anchors from one winch with independent MAX-grip™ snag-free warping drum. Features include manual "Free Fall" anchoring via a cone-type brake/clutch, a chain wheel locking pawl (except 500 and 800 Series), and simplified through-deck installation. Constructed from marine-grade 316 stainless steel and chromed bronze for durability. The gearbox has high-efficiency output drive with bronze spur gears in a sealed oil bath, a marine-grade anodised aluminium gearbox and spacer (on 500, 1000 and 1500 models), and a heavy-duty, dual-direction marine motor. Easily disassembled for servicing.
