The Maxwell VWC 3500 24v windlass is a powerful and durable marine anchoring system designed for automatic handling of chain-only anchor rodes. It features an independent capstan for the retrieval of a secondary rope and/or chain rode, or to assist with docking procedures. This classic-style windlass can be mounted vertically or horizontally, suitable for setups where the chainpipe is mounted separately or where the rode is retrieved and stored above deck. It is constructed from marine-grade stainless steel (AISI 316) and chromed bronze for long-term durability. The windlass incorporates a cone-type brake/clutch mechanism, enabling manual ‘Free Fall’ anchoring with smooth progressive engagement for safe operator control. It has a simplified through-deck installation due to its modular design, an anodized aluminum gearbox, and a heavy-duty, dual-direction Cima motor specifically designed for marine winches. The system is also easily disassembled for servicing. It is specifically engineered for seamless compatibility with 1/2" high tensile (HT) anchor chain.
