VX Performance Camshaft

The IPD VX Performance Camshaft is engineered to boost power and torque in non-turbo Volvo 240, 740, and 940 models, suitable for both stock and modified engines. This camshaft is a reproduction of Volvo's original VX camshaft, which was featured in the European B230FX engine. While it can offer good results in turbo applications, it is specifically recommended for non-turbo setups. For optimal performance, the VX camshaft is best suited for models equipped with Bosch LH-Jetronic or Regina fuel injection. It can be used in 240 models with K-Jetronic fuel injection, but users should expect a rougher idle and potential adverse effects on idle emissions. The camshaft is constructed from new Parkerized chill cast iron to ensure a long service life, avoiding the compromises associated with re-ground camshafts that can diminish hardened material and reduce longevity. Key specifications for this camshaft include an intake lift of 11.37mm and an exhaust lift of 10.65mm. The intake duration is 245.4°, and the exhaust duration is 236.2°, with an overlap of 13.8°. When installing this performance camshaft, it is recommended to replace the cam cover gasket and adjust the valves. It is also an opportune time to consider installing a new timing belt and seals for comprehensive engine maintenance.
