The Weistec W.3 Turbo Upgrade is a factory upgrade designed to significantly enhance the performance of Mercedes-Benz M178 4.0L Biturbo engines. This upgrade involves sending your original turbochargers to Weistec for a comprehensive refurbishment. Your factory turbos will be disassembled, inspected, and then precisely machined to accommodate a new 5-axis CNC-machined impeller wheel. This process results in a substantial increase in power, particularly at higher RPMs, without compromising spool or response. Externally, the turbochargers retain their stock appearance, ensuring a discreet upgrade. The reassembly process includes new seals and high-RPM balancing for reliability and an extended service life, comparable to OEM standards. Installation is straightforward, as all original oil and coolant lines are compatible, making it a 100% bolt-on process. A core exchange option is available, allowing you to receive upgraded turbochargers upfront by paying a refundable core charge, which is reimbursed upon receipt and inspection of your original units. This turbo upgrade is compatible with a range of Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, GTS, GTC, and GTR models from 2016 to 2021, all equipped with the M178 engine. For optimal performance, Weistec recommends combining this upgrade with their Downpipes, High Flow Air Filters, and a dedicated W.3 Turbo Specific ECU Upgrade.
