W.4 Turbo Upgrade

The Weistec Engineering M177 / M178 W.4 Turbo Upgrade is engineered to significantly enhance the performance of M177 and M178 engines, aiming for over 900 crank horsepower with supporting modifications. Key features of the W.4 Turbo Upgrade include increased compressor airflow, custom-designed Weistec compressor covers and cast stainless steel turbine housings, custom turbo coolant and oil lines, and Weistec turbo intake couplers. The design allows for a bolt-on installation, reusing stock wastegate actuators and compatible with stock charge piping. Achieving the full potential of the W.4 turbo upgrade, particularly beyond 900 horsepower, requires essential supporting modifications. These include ECU tuning, which is mandatory to optimize fuel, boost, and timing for the new components. For newer Mercedes models (generally 2019+), a Weistec CPC Module is also required to remove factory torque limiters. Downpipes are also required for performance gains, with Weistec offering specific options for GLC63 and C63 models (note: Weistec downpipes are not for sale in the US). Performance spark plugs and a water-methanol injection system are also recommended to manage increased heat and boost, while carbon fiber airboxes maximize intake efficiency.
