W1 Turbocharger

The 27WON W1 Turbocharger upgrade is engineered to be a direct replacement for the OE turbocharger in 2016-2021 Honda Civic 1.5T models (FC1/FC3/FK7), providing a significant performance boost without requiring extensive modification. This unit features a larger, forged aluminum compressor wheel (59% increase) with extended tip technology and a 61% larger 9-blade turbine wheel, designed to enhance peak flow, boost capacity, and overall engine efficiency. The design aims to reduce boost lag while maintaining power delivery to the engine's redline. It is built with new castings for compressor and turbine housings and a larger CHRA for improved bearing support and cooling. Installation is simplified as the W1 Turbo Kit is designed to fit like the original Honda turbocharger, ensuring compatibility with existing OE and aftermarket parts. The kit is comprehensive, including all necessary oil and coolant lines, hardware, and installation components. It is constructed from 100% new performance parts, eliminating the need for a core charge or dealing with reworked OE components. Performance gains vary based on fuel and tuning. With a simple drop-in installation on 91 octane fuel, expect an increase of +18wHP and +18wTQ, with a tune yielding +42wHP. Utilizing E85 fuel can result in an un-tuned gain of +52wHP and +2wTQ, and a tuned gain of +65wHP and +18wTQ. The design prioritizes carrying power to redline without significantly affecting low-end torque, with peak torque hitting 500rpm later to reduce stress on engine internals. It is recommended to use 5W-30 engine oil post-installation and not to exceed 27psi of operating boost pressure due to MAP sensor limitations. A larger unit and MAP sensor are suggested for those aiming for over 27psi. The turbocharger is available with either a journal bearing or a ball bearing option.
