Walbro 450 E85 Fuel Pump Kit

The Racetronix RFPK-055-450E is an Extreme Performance Fuel System Kit engineered for high-horsepower applications, utilizing the legendary Walbro F90000274 "450" Dual Turbine fuel pump. This E85-certified pump features a dual-channel turbine architecture, offering superior hot fuel handling and consistent delivery compared to traditional single-turbine designs, especially under extreme under-hood temperatures or when using high-ethanol fuel blends prone to vapor lock. The pump is housed within a custom Gen-2 6061-T6 anodized aluminum reservoir, providing enhanced thermal management and a larger safety margin over factory plastic units. The assembly boasts a proprietary siphon-jet integration for active reservoir filling and a redundant 28-amp electrical system with 10-gauge power delivery to ensure consistent flow. The unit is designed for 1997-early 2003 C5 Corvettes with side-access fuel pumps and requires the use of the factory original stainless steel fuel hat and cap for installation. Critical system requirements include addressing potential regulator overrun with factory regulators on 1999–2003.5 models, as the Walbro 450's volume can overpower them. For optimal performance, converting to a full return-style system with a kit like the FLK-C5 Fuel Line & Rail Kit is strongly advised to prevent fuel percolation and heat soak issues. Additionally, due to high thermal loads generated by the extreme fuel volume, PWM speed control or an external fuel cooler may be recommended for sustained racing or high-ambient temperature operation. This kit does NOT fit 2003.5+ Corvettes (VIN #114931 and higher). Installation requires connecting the high-current ground terminals to the tank perimeter bolts, as grounds have been relocated to offload heat from the bulkhead connector. The system is an all-or-nothing setup and will not work with factory wiring or a factory pump due to the reconfigured bulkhead pinout for redundant 28-amp power.
