The Motorcraft 3L3Z-8501-CA is a genuine OEM water pump assembly engineered for precision fitment in various Ford vehicles. This new component, which includes an M30 hub, serves as a direct replacement for factory-installed water pumps to restore cooling system integrity and prevent engine damage caused by overheating. Installation requires a thorough approach to ensure the system is properly sealed. For models produced from 2004 to 2010, the process involves removing the engine cooling fan and shroud, while 2010 and later models may require removing the air intake duct. Technicians must ensure all bolt threads and threaded engine holes are free of debris and old sealant. When reinstalling the pump, O-ring surfaces must be cleaned, and a new O-ring should be used if the old one shows signs of wear to ensure a leak-free seal. Mounting bolts must be tightened to the vehicle's specific torque requirements to avoid damage. Compatibility includes 2000-2019 E-150, E-250, and E-350 series vans, 2003-2006 and 2009 Ford Expedition, 2003-2006 and 2009-2014 F-150, as well as 2004-2010 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks equipped with 4.6L or 5.4L engines. Note that specific requirements exist for certain engine configurations; for instance, 5.0L V8 models require uninstalling the thermostat housing, while 4.6L and 4.0L models require unplugging the heater outlet hose during the service process.
