Wavetrac 02J Limited Slip Front Differential

The Wavetrac 02J Limited Slip Front Differential is engineered for MkIV Volkswagen Golf, Jetta, Bora, and Beetle models utilizing the 02J 5-Speed Manual Transmission. This performance differential drives both wheels for improved acceleration and faster cornering, offering a significant upgrade over stock open differentials. Its unique wave design center pack provides an enhanced no-load bias ratio, meaning it maintains grip even under zero or near-zero torque conditions, a common weakness in other torque-biasing differentials. This patented design automatically increases the bias ratio when needed and seamlessly reverts to its nominal ratio for optimal drivability. Constructed in the USA with high-strength 9310 alloy steel gears and exclusively made ARP® fasteners, the Wavetrac differential is built for durability. The diff bodies are machined from case-hardened steel billet. The internal gears are optimized for strength and oil film retention, and the side gear/axle interface is designed with maximum material thickness for high power levels. Further customization is possible with interchangeable friction plates, sold separately. These plates allow users to fine-tune the differential's response based on applied torque load, tailoring performance to specific needs. The standard configuration includes carbon-fiber bias plates for excellent all-around performance.
