Its internally optimized gear tooth forms enhance strength and oil film retention, while the smaller, more durable gear package reduces overall mass. The side gear/axle interface is designed with maximum material thickness in this critical area, crucial for high power levels. Manufactured in the USA by Autotech Driveline, the Wavetrac Differential is a state-of-the-art helical gear unit. It uniquely features patented technology to counteract wheelspin when a wheel encounters an unloaded condition. During such times, the internal cam device generates load, ensuring the gripping wheel maintains drive, preventing the unit from acting like an open differential. Crafted from premium materials, each Wavetrac Differential boasts internal gears made from high-strength 9310 alloy steel and diff bodies machined from case-hardened steel billet. This differential includes ARP Ring gear bolts and requires approximately 6 quarts of VW Audi DSG Oil for proper function. It is compatible with 2WD models equipped with a factory Performance Pack VAQ Electronic Differential.
