Wilwood Caliper-D8-4 Rear Clear 1.38in Pistons 1.25in Disc

The Wilwood D8-4 rear calipers are a direct bolt-on replacement for the Original Equipment (OE) factory rear calipers on all 1965-82 Corvettes. These calipers feature forged billet aluminum bodies, stainless steel pistons, and high-temperature seals, designed to eliminate common issues like rust, bore pitting, and seal failures found in the original cast iron caliper design. The D8-4 calipers mount in the stock location over stock rotors and are compatible with the original type D8 brake pads. They are designed to fit inside 1967 and later production steel rally wheels and most later model alloy wheels. For original steel “JK” code wheels from 1965-66 and some aftermarket alloy replica wheels, a 3/16” or thicker wheel spacer may be required for clearance. The D8-4 calipers maintain the same overall piston volumes as the original calipers, meaning no other changes, such as master cylinder output or front to rear bias adjustment, are necessary, apart from a new flexline with an 1/8”-27 NPT end for the new aluminum caliper.
