The Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS is a double-DIN multimedia DVD receiver designed to enhance vehicle audio and video capabilities through a responsive 7-inch motorized WVGA touchscreen. It features an updated user interface that streamlines menu selection, along with Pioneer’s proprietary MIXTRAX technology to manage and play digital music collections. For audio enthusiasts, the unit includes three sets of 4-volt RCA preouts and an 8-band graphic equalizer for precise sound tuning. Key connectivity options include built-in Bluetooth with an auto-connection function for simplified device pairing. The receiver is SiriusXM-ready and comes equipped with an internal HD Radio tuner that provides high-fidelity digital sound for AM and FM broadcasts. Users can also add GPS navigation functionality via the AVIC-U250 add-on unit. It is important to note that specific advanced features require additional hardware. AppRadio Mode for iPhone, as well as full music and video connectivity for iPod or iPhone, requires the use of an optional interface cable that is sold separately. The system’s wired USB connection ensures digital signal transfer while providing 1 amp of current for device charging.
