Constructed on a custom-tooled 8-inch frame, the X-8 v.3 maximizes performance potential. Its motor and coil assembly are engineered to handle approximately 20mm of linear x-max one-way, with a total peak-to-peak excursion around 2.4 inches before the coil exits the magnetic gap. Distortion is further minimized through an aluminum magnet ID shorting ring and other proprietary Sundown technologies. The subwoofer is rated at a conservative 800-watt RMS power handling. Recommended enclosure specifications include a sealed volume of 0.3-0.4 cubic feet or a ported volume of 0.75-1.0 cubic feet, with a recommended tuning frequency of 32Hz.
