The CURT 15005 Xtra Duty Class 5 Trailer Hitch is designed for heavy-duty towing, matching the strength and dependability of full-size pickup trucks, vans, and SUVs. It offers a vehicle-specific fit for seamless integration and maximum towing power, particularly for certain years of the Ram 1500. This hitch minimizes drilling and modifications during installation and comes with high-strength grade-8 hardware. It features an extra-large main body constructed from high-strength steel. This hitch is rated for 15,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 1,700 lbs. tongue weight, and can be used with a weight distribution hitch for up to 17,000 lbs. WD and 1,700 lbs. WDTW. It has an industry-standard 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, making it versatile for various towing accessories, cargo carriers, or bike racks. The 2" receiver has a steel collar for added strength and an open back for easy cleaning. All CURT custom tow hitches, including this one, are thoroughly tested according to SAE J684 at their in-house testing facility. They are made in the USA (may include imported hardware) with robotic and manual fabrication for accuracy. The hitch undergoes an industry-leading finishing process, including a rust-resistant liquid A-coat and a durable carbide black powder coat finish, cured together for superior protection against rust, chips, and UV damage. It is backed by a limited lifetime warranty (one-year finish, one-year parts).
