X Package Twin-Turbo System

The Turbo Technology "X Package" is a comprehensive twin-turbo system engineered for the C6 and C6 Z06 Corvette, built to deliver extreme horsepower gains. The system's evolution began in 1999, with significant upgrades including the transition from tubular to cast manifolds to prevent cracking and ensure long-term reliability. The current iteration features Precision Turbo (PTE) dual ball bearing turbochargers, tested to exceed 1000 rear-wheel horsepower, with some applications reaching up to 1200 rwhp. The kit includes detailed components such as handmade, tig-welded, mandrel-bent aluminized mild steel 2.5" downpipes, with an optional 3.0" upgrade. It incorporates a Tial MVS 38mm wastegate and a single large core front-mount intercooler, complete with a Tial 50mm blow-off valve. The compressor ducting utilizes a 3.0" inlet and a 2.0" to 2.5" outlet, connected via silicone/fiberglass couplers secured by clamps rated for 20 psi (T-bolt clamps are an available option). K&N air filters are supplied as standard. Installation considerations include the routing of the 3.0" compressor inlet ducting through the front inner fender well, which is designed to accommodate stock front tires and wheel offsets. Some minor modification, such as ovaling the tube, may be necessary for certain aftermarket tire and wheel combinations to prevent rubbing during hard turns. The system is sold complete, excluding necessary fuel system upgrades and professional tuning, which are crucial for optimal performance and engine longevity. The manufacturer notes that a stock fuel system with 60pph injectors can support up to 600 rwhp, or 700 rwhp with a boost-a-pump, with more substantial upgrades recommended for higher power outputs. Dyno results show a stock C6 manual transmission making over 500hp at 7psi with this system, and a modified 427ci C6 Z06 achieving over 900 RWHP (over 1000hp at the flywheel) on 14.5 PSI with a custom methanol injection kit.
