X4 Performance Tuner and Programmer

The SCT X4 Performance Tuner is a handheld device designed to extract hidden power from a wide range of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. It comes preloaded with performance, tow, and economy tunes, offering easy return-to-stock functionality. Beyond power gains, the X4 allows for reading and clearing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), real-time vehicle monitoring, and data logging, contributing to improved throttle response and optimized shift strategies for both daily driving and towing. Its compact design features a large, full-color LCD screen for easy readability of tuning information, gauges, and datalog screens, with detachable OBD-II cables for clean mounting and Wi-Fi capability for wireless tune delivery and device updates. For late-model vehicles, particularly those with newer PCM encryption such as 2021–2024 Ford models, the SCT X4 may require custom tuning from an SCT dealer or tuning partner. Custom tunes can be loaded via SCT’s Cloud Tune Delivery or USB transfer system. Specific performance gains vary by vehicle and engine. For example, a 2011–2019 Mustang 5.0L Coyote can see up to ~40 RWHP and ~40 ft-lbs with optimized throttle and fueling using SCT preloaded tunes. However, later model Mustang 5.0L Coyote (2020–2024) and F-150 5.0L Coyote (2024-2025) require custom tuning due to PCM encryption. Similarly, Mustang 5.2L variants (GT350 / GT500 / Raptor R) (2016–2024) and certain F-150 Powerstroke models (1996-1997 Ford 7.3L, 2014 Ford F450, and 17-19 F450/F550) also necessitate custom tunes for safe operation and maximum gains.
