The CPE xFlex™ Stage 2 Rear Motor Mount is engineered as a robust replacement for the stock rear motor mount on the Mazdaspeed3, addressing a known weak point in the factory setup. This mount is constructed from billet CNC aluminum, ensuring high strength and precision. It utilizes an EPDM bushing, chosen for its superior vibration resistance and resilience compared to polyurethane, which helps to protect the rubber from overheating and maintain structural integrity even with minor cracks. All hardware included is stainless steel for corrosion resistance. The design features a vertically mounted bushing, which is a key innovation from CPE. Unlike stock mounts that stress the bushing in multiple directions, this vertical orientation ensures the bushing is stressed in only one direction. This significantly increases the mount's durability and addresses the pendulum effect of the engine under power. The aluminum construction starts at 15.81 lbs and is meticulously machined down to a final weight of 3.53 lbs, creating additional pockets for a lightweight yet strong component. The pressed center insert ensures a perfect connection between the bushing material and metal, minimizing vibrations that can occur with less precise manufacturing methods.
