The Mobil Mobil XHP 462 Moly is an extended service lithium complex grease engineered for demanding applications and challenging operating conditions. This grease provides excellent high-temperature performance, outstanding adhesion, robust structural stability, and superior resistance to water contamination. It also offers a high level of chemical stability and excellent protection against rust and corrosion, making it suitable for a wide range of environments. With a high dropping point and a maximum recommended operating temperature of 140º C (284°F), this grease ensures reliable lubrication even in elevated thermal conditions. It is formulated with an ISO VG 460 base oil viscosity and is available in NLGI grades 1 and 2. The Mobilgrease XHP 462 Moly variant is specifically fortified with 3% molybdenum disulfide, providing enhanced extreme pressure (EP) and anti-wear (AW) protection for heavily loaded and high-sliding applications, safeguarding against wear that can occur from oil film breakdown. Its performance characteristics make it an ideal choice for scenarios involving high temperatures, water contamination, shock loading, and extended re-lubrication intervals. The extreme pressure formulation with molybdenum disulfide offers crucial wear protection under severe pivoting and heavily loaded sliding conditions, contributing to extended equipment life and reduced unscheduled downtime.
