The King Engine Bearings Main Bearing Set (MB5527XPSTDX) is engineered to meet the increased demands of today's high-performance sport compact race engines. Standard engine bearings often lack the necessary load capacity for these powerful applications, but King Racing's XP series is developed with technologically advanced geometrical features and unique metal structures to drive industry durability, performance, and expectations higher. The core of this performance upgrade is the pMax Black tri-metal structure, specifically developed to handle increased load capacity as engines evolve and gain more power. The intermediate layer boasts a higher tin content and increased hardness compared to typical race bearings, while the overlay is strengthened by a proprietary nano-scaled hardening process, significantly increasing its hardness and overall load capacity. Furthermore, King's SecureBond technology enhances the tri-metal structural integrity. This micro-etch surface preparation process strengthens the bond between layers, reducing the likelihood of catastrophic failure due to delamination under extreme load conditions or metal-to-metal contact. The bearings are constructed from a tri-metal copper-lead nickel material and are standard size for the crankshaft undersize. Their commitment to quality is maintained through rigorous quality control checkpoints throughout the entire in-house manufacturing process.
