The Carbotech CTCP5555-D54 brake pads utilize the XP10 compound, engineered for high-performance applications. This compound is renowned for its exceptionally strong initial bite and a coefficient of friction that is unmatched in the industry. It offers superior rotor friendliness, a critical factor for longevity and consistent performance. The XP10 compound boasts impressive fade resistance, capable of withstanding temperatures over 1475 F (801 C). This makes it ideal for demanding driving conditions where heat management is crucial. Despite its aggressive performance, the XP10 compound retains the highly praised release and excellent modulation characteristics that define Carbotech compounds, ensuring predictable and controllable braking. While the XP10 compound delivers significant performance gains, Carbotech does not recommend it for daily-driven street use due to potentially elevated levels of dust and noise. This specific pad set, CTCP5555-D54, is designed with a 54mm annulus and fits calipers such as AP Racing CP9660, AP Racing CP5555, AP Racing CP5060-2/3/4/5ST, and Rotora FC6. It is also listed for fitment on various racing vehicles including the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR18, Ford Mustang FP350S (race car), Honda Civic TCR (race car), and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X R4 Tarmac Rally.
