The Smittybilt XRC-12 Gen2 winch is a complete recovery solution engineered for durability and consistent pulling strength. It utilizes a 6.6hp series wound motor paired with a 3-stage planetary gear system, providing a 193.2:1 gear ratio to tackle challenging recoveries. The exterior is protected by a UV-resistant textured black coating and stainless steel hardware, ensuring longevity even when exposed to the elements. Technically, the unit boasts an IP67 waterproof rating and utilizes an automatic in-drum brake system for secure control. The winch includes a 79-foot wire rope and a 4-way roller fairlead. Its solenoid box is highly versatile, allowing for three distinct mounting positions to accommodate various bumper configurations. The mounting bolt pattern is standard at 10.0" x 4.50". Installation is categorized as an intermediate difficulty task, typically requiring 1-2 hours of shop time. Proper operation requires a minimum 650CCA battery to ensure sufficient power delivery to the motor. The kit comes with a heavy-duty 12-foot lead remote switch and a forged steel tow hook to complete the recovery setup.
