Xtra Fuel System EcoBoost 1.6T

The Stratified Xtra Fuel System is engineered to enhance the performance of EcoBoost 1.6T engines by overcoming the limitations of the stock direct-injection fuel system. The original system typically begins to falter around 300 wheel horsepower due to limitations in its high-pressure fuel pump and injectors. This auxiliary system provides a solution that allows for safe fueling capabilities up to 400-420 wheel horsepower, even with the factory in-tank pump. It includes a 90lb/hr (950cc/min) injector and can be upgraded with larger injectors if needed. The system's benefits include increased power throughout the power band, the capability to safely run E85 blended fuels, reduced detonation and heat, and cleaner intake valves. It offers better fuel metering and atomization compared to water-methanol injection systems. Post-installation, the system requires tuning to integrate seamlessly with the OEM fuel delivery system, ensuring safe and efficient power delivery, especially when using ethanol-based fuels. The system's controller is programmed via a serial/DB9 port, and a USB converter cable may be necessary if one is not already available. Installation instructions and software drivers are provided. This auxiliary fuel system is a highly recommended fueling solution for vehicles running over 300 wheel horsepower with an upgraded turbocharger. It functions by supplementing the direct injection system primarily at wide-open throttle, similar to how many OEM high-power vehicles utilize both direct and port injection. A WMI bung is also included for those who wish to run auxiliary fuel on pump gas with WMI for octane boost.
