The ACT AI4-XTSS is an Extreme Performance Street Sprung Clutch Kit engineered for high-performance applications. This kit utilizes an Xtreme pressure plate, featuring ACT's exclusive diaphragm design which significantly increases clamp load, minimizes deflection, and extends the overall life of the clutch assembly. The diaphragms undergo a rigorous four-stage, heat-treating process to ensure consistent and reliable performance under demanding conditions. The clutch disc in the AI4-XTSS kit is crafted with premium organic friction materials, incorporating a high copper content for superior heat transfer and a steel backing for enhanced burst strength and durability. These discs are designed with reduced marcel to facilitate quicker shifting, complementing the high-performance nature of the ACT pressure plate. The result is a clutch system that offers quiet operation while maintaining increased strength and reliability. Performance-wise, the AI4-XTSS kit provides a moderate to heavy pedal effort, ensuring smooth engagement with minimal gear rattle, even in OE configurations. It offers approximately 72% more torque capacity over stock, rated at 320 ft-lbs. A break-in period of 300-500 miles with mild engagement is recommended for the organic discs before engaging in racing or spirited driving. The entire clutch assembly is computer spin balanced to within .25 oz-in for smooth operation across the entire RPM range.
