Description

The COMP Cams Xtreme XE-R Series Camshaft Set, part number 249-106400, is engineered for Ford 4.6L, 5.4L, and 5.8L MOD 4V DOHC engines. This hydraulic roller camshaft features a .475" intake valve lift and .450" exhaust valve lift, with advertised durations of 269 degrees intake and 267 degrees exhaust. The specified operating range is from 1800 to 6200 RPM, promising substantial improvements in horsepower and torque. Installation of this camshaft requires additional modifications and components for optimal performance and compatibility. These include upgraded lower gears, exhaust upgrades, a larger throttle body, a larger Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, and bigger fuel injectors. Custom programming or tuning is also essential. For vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, a stall converter of 2200 RPM or higher is necessary. Furthermore, the use of COMP Cams spring number 26123 is specified for this camshaft.
