Z04 Turbo Kit for 1.4L LE2 Engine

The ZZPerformance Z04 upgraded turbo kit is engineered for the second generation Chevrolet Cruze equipped with the direct injected 1.4L turbo engine. Building on the success of their first-generation Z04 kit, this system offers comparable power potential and reliability, featuring custom compressor and turbine housings designed for a direct bolt-on fitment to the LE2 engine. The turbo itself is constructed with a durable cast iron turbine housing, a journal bearing center section, and a 9-blade turbine wheel optimized for lower back pressure, complemented by a cast aluminum compressor housing. This comprehensive kit includes all necessary components for installation, such as a stainless oil feed line, fittings, custom coolant hoses, a billet turbo oil drain spacer, and a laser-cut wastegate solenoid bracket. ZZPerformance states the Z04 turbo is capable of delivering an increase of 40-100 wheel horsepower over the stock turbo, contingent on supporting modifications. However, it is noted to spool approximately 500-800 RPM later than the stock turbo. Installation of the ZZP Gen 2 Cruze Z04 Turbo Kit requires the ZZP Gen 2 Cruze cold air intake; while it may work with other aftermarket intakes, custom fabrication for the intake tube to turbo inlet connection would be necessary. Buyers can choose between ordering the turbo alone (with necessary installation hardware and a larger silicone intake tube for existing ZZP intakes) or opting for a package that includes the ZZP cold air intake system. A ZZP 1.4 Turbo Tune is also listed as required to maximize power gains and ensure proper operation.
