Overview

The Ford Performance M-6007-Z460FRT is a Z460 Boss crate engine featuring a 460 cubic inch displacement. This small block Ford engine is based on the 351 Windsor with a Boss 351 block and a 9.5-inch deck. It delivers 575 horsepower and 575 lb.-ft. of torque.

The engine includes a SCAT forged steel crankshaft, SCAT forged H-beam connecting rods, and forged Mahle pistons. It also features Ford Performance aluminum Z cylinder heads with 2.02-inch intake and 1.60-inch exhaust valves, and a hydraulic roller camshaft with 0.594/0.618 inch lift. The compression ratio is a nominal 10.0:1.

The Ford Performance Z460 Crate Engine (M-6007-Z460FRT) is a powerful 460 cubic inch small block Ford engine, built on a 351 Windsor platform with a Boss 351 block and a 9.5-inch deck. This engine is engineered to deliver 575 horsepower at 5500 RPM and 575 lb.-ft. of torque at 4700 RPM, making it suitable for both street and track applications. Key internal components include a SCAT forged steel crankshaft, SCAT forged H-beam connecting rods with floating pins, and forged Mahle pistons with floating wrist pins. The engine is topped with Ford Performance M-6049-Z304DA aluminum Z cylinder heads, featuring 2.02-inch intake valves and 1.60-inch exhaust valves. A hydraulic roller camshaft with 0.594/0.618 inch lift contributes to its performance characteristics, with a nominal compression ratio of 10.0:1. This rear sump configuration includes a 7-quart oil pan with a windage tray and crankshaft scraper, as well as a Ford Performance water pump. A steel distributor gear is required, and premium unleaded fuel is recommended. The engine is internally balanced for a neutral balance flywheel. It is hand-assembled in the U.S. with performance clearances. Recommended intake is the Edelbrock PN 2924 Super Victor, and carburetor is a Holley 850 CFM (both sold separately). Engine power ratings were achieved using long tube headers.
