Overview

The Mobil Zerice S is a premium synthetic refrigeration compressor lubricant. It is based on alkyl benzenes and offers superior miscibility with hydrochlorofluorocarbon (R22), allowing for use in very low temperature applications down to -60°C. In some cases, it can also be used in compressors with ammonia as the refrigerating fluid.

Its formulation is based on alkyl benzenes, providing superior miscibility with hydrochlorofluorocarbon (R22). This enhanced miscibility allows the oil to be used effectively in very low temperature environments, down to -60°C, preventing common issues like oil separation and congealing on critical system components. Beyond its low-temperature performance, Mobil Zerice S also exhibits excellent miscibility with halocarbon refrigerants, which helps to increase system efficiency. The lubricant's very low pour and floc points prevent harmful wax precipitation that could otherwise block expansion valves and heat transfer surfaces. The synthetic nature of these oils ensures excellent chemical and high thermal stability, resisting reactions with refrigerants and preventing oil breakdown for a long service life. This ISO 68 viscosity grade oil is packaged in a 5.28-gallon (19.99-liter) pail. While it is primarily designed for R22 systems, it can also be utilized in compressors where ammonia acts as the refrigerating fluid under certain circumstances.
