The Fastway/Equal-i-zer ZIP™ Breakaway Cable is a 6-foot trailer safety cable designed to connect your trailer's emergency breakaway system to your tow vehicle. Its coiled design prevents the cable from dragging on the ground, which can cause fraying and tangles common with traditional straight cables. This feature helps maintain a reliable safety connection and meets or exceeds DOT requirements.

The breakaway cable is constructed with a stainless-steel core and a polymer coating for weather and corrosion resistance. It is compatible with all standard trailer breakaway systems.

The Fastway/Equal-i-zer ZIP™ Breakaway Cable (model 80-00-2060) is a superior safety solution for your trailer, offering a 6-foot coiled design that eliminates the issues associated with traditional breakaway cables. Unlike standard cables that can drag, fray, and corrode, the ZIP™’s innovative coiled construction keeps it safely elevated off the ground at all times. This prevents tangles, protects the cable from road debris, and significantly extends its lifespan. This corrosion-resistant build ensures long-lasting performance and reliability. The cable provides consistent tension and slack through turns and braking, guaranteeing that the trailer's emergency braking system will activate instantly when needed, thereby enhancing overall towing safety. This makes hitching and unhitching more convenient and efficient. For optimal performance, the 6' length is recommended for gooseneck or 5th wheel trailers, while a 4' version is available for bumper pull trailers where the distance between the brake switch and connection point is less than 3 feet.
